The Last Season of America: You’re Not Alone We See It Too
Jul 25, 2024WHO: This online event is for people who are anxious about current events and feel like the want a space to both process it and discuss what we might do about it.
WHAT: This is the first of a 5 part series called “Navigating a world on fire. The series will cover the current terrain of the poly-crises we are facing as well as ways we can get through it together. In this first session Reece and Aaron will give a big picture overview of what WildSeed sees as the core crises and then hold space for people to share how these crises affect their daily lives. In the end, Reece and Aaron will also touch on the how the offerings of Wildseed can support us through this moment.
WHY: .”Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” – James Baldwin. We know that many of us find ourselves being overwhelmed by the weight of these times. So we wanted to host a space every month for your community to take a cleared eyed few on what we face and discuss how we can best hold each other through it.
SPEAKERS:
Reece Chenault
The Ferryman to the Future
Reece has put in his dues as visible leader, first a union organizer and then as the executive director of US Labor Against the War and now mostly works behind the scenes.
Part ferryman getting people where they need to be and part Griot sharing the wisdom that arises from what we do when we arrive, Reece plays an invaluable support role to many movement spaces.
Recently Reece has been working with Justice Before Peace to build a BI-POC led working class anti-imperalist movement grounded in ritual.
Aaron Goggans

Aaron is a writer, facilitator, organizer and architect of the future. Aaron builds movement infrastructure before people know they need it and helps them achieve things even he never imagined were possible.
Aaron is a co-creator of Black Lives Matter: DC and a handful of other projects that have made liberatory marks on the world. He is currently the co-chair of the Fellowship of Reconciliation.
WILDSEED SOCIETY
The WildSeed Society is a political, spiritual and economic community that is inviting people to build a 21st century Underground Railroad together. We are building a series of refuges from the current exploitative world to new worlds where we all get to belong and be cared for - by focusing on Spiritual Liberation, Social Transformation and Economic Revolution. We seek to experiment and prototype our way into a new way of life - in community and in right relationship with the land.
The WildSeed Society is stewarded by a collective of movement veterans, spiritual teachers, and organizational development nerds. Many of the instigators of the collective were involved in the Black Lives Matter movement before starting WildSeed. It is inspired by the vision of futurist Octavia Butler of gifted misfits finding community together before transforming the world.
