Yes, due to the importance of the intimate nature of this healing and collaboration work, there is a maximum of 30 participants per Caucus Space.

At the same time, in order to grow  a sense of community with enough people, we need a minimum of 10 participants per Caucus Space.

Please note that if we are unable to have at least 10 people registered for a specific Caucus Space, we may consider not holding that Caucus Space and figure out a different way forward. 

So please make sure to register soon in order to not miss out and invite like-minded colleagues in philanthropy to join! 

SLIP is designed to primarily be for people who work in what we call "institutional philanthropy." This is due to the mission of SLIP. 

SLIP mission is three-fold. First and foremost, we want to transform philanthropy to better serve movements and communities.

Second, we want to use the SLIP registration fees to resource our more radical movement support work that we offer through the WildSeed Society, which is difficult to get funding for and is often offered for free. 

Third, we want to resource those working to resource movements.

In order to achieve the first two goals, our curriculum is designed for philanthropic professionals within what we call “Institutional Philanthropy.”

We understand that other types of groups exist within philanthropy - such as giving circles, philanthropic serving organizations and consultants. And they play a major role in the sector.

Yet we also know that most of the money and many of the challenges are tied up in larger institutions with paid staff and annual gifts that exceed their operating budgets - which is how we define institutional philanthropy.

Our political education and strategic planning will be geared towards understanding, grappling with and overcoming the contradictions, shortcomings and opportunities within philanthropic institutions with their professional staff, large budgets and grantee networks. 

So if you don't work in institutional philanthropy and want to participate in SLIP, you are still welcomed. But please know that the program is not geared towards your current position in philanthropy. 

Yes, you can still join even if your organization does not do grantmaking since it's still a part of the philanthropy sector. 

We understand that identity, especially racial identity, is incredibly complex and multifaceted. This is one reason that we hold Caucus Spaces. They allow us to dive deeper into specific experiences that groups face.

Unfortunately, we simply do not have the capacity to offer as many Caucus Spaces as we would like or as may be desired by the program participants.

We offer a Caucus Space for Black women to honor the origins of the program as a community healing circle for Black women in philanthropy and as reflection of the reality of Erika’s particular insight into the experience of Black women at work. We know that we only have the capacity to offer two more caucus spaces and so we choose to have a Caucus Space for BIPOC and for white participants.

We understand this might make the decision of which Caucus Space to attend difficult for some.

We suggest that folks, who might be able to attend multiple caucus, choose which aspect of their experience at work they want to work through in this program. 

For example, if you are white-passing person of color who wants to discuss how racist oppression affects you or your communities, then the Caucus Space for BIPOC would be most appropriate.

Likewise, if you are white-passing POC, who wants to explore how best to leverage your relative privilege at this moment, then the Caucus Space for white participants would be more appropriate.

Similarly, Black women and femmes, who want to focus more on the racial aspects of their experience and/or specifically strategize around Black/Brown solidarity, might find the Caucus Space for BIPOC more useful for their goals than the Caucus Space for Black women.

Each Caucus Space is open to people who identify as that identity. We honor people’s self identification and understand the beautiful range of people and communities that terms like woman or BIPOC include.

This program is designed to engaged with through its live sessions. So while it's ok to miss one or two if necessary, it's very important that you try to make the majority of the live sessions in order to benefit from the program.

The Caucus Spaces will not be recorded to better support the participants in being honest and vulnerable in the ways practicing tools for liberation ask for.

However the Mixed Collaboration Spaces will be recorded to capture the visions and strategies coming out of them for future reference.

We would love it if we could organize an in-person gathering for SLIP participants to meet.

However given the logistical and cost challenges of that, we are still trying to work out the possibility of us coming together in-person.

If we do have one, those expenses would be separate from the program registration fee.

Sustaining Leaders In Philanthropy (SLIP) is being offered through the WildSeed Wellness Coop, a for-profit cooperative that WildSeed Society has recently launched.

The WildSeed Wellness Coop was created to both meet the needs of nonprofits and philanthropy at this time and in ways they're ready for - and to subsidize the more radical movement work of the WildSeed society, which struggles to get funded. 

Through the WildSeed Wellness Coop, we're able to ensure that there is a steady values-aligned source of income for the WildSeed Society, a nonprofit, that would make us less reliant on the grantmaking priorities of philanthropy. 

In this way, the WildSeed Society can remain a movement-focused organization and community committed to cultivating Spiritual Liberation, Social Transformation, and Economic Revolution.  

Our pricing structure is tied to reality that in this moment of rising fascism much of the work that needs to be done is not going to be funded by philanthropy.

Your investment in this program not only covers your healing and strategizing work, but also subsidizes WildSeed Society's more radical work including:

• Revolutionary Aftercare for frontline movement stewards experiencing crisis as a direct result of their organizing
• Mutual Aid Support for community under threat
• Financing the organizing of Federal Workers and Tech Workers
• Funding the transformative movements that will help shape what comes next out of this chaos
